scholarship 2006
2006 CWN Scholarship recipients:
Sandra Stewart, a single mother of two, is attending Chesapeake College and is pursuing an RN degree. She also works weekends as a flight attendant for US Airways, but since 9/11 her hours have been continuously reduced and her position is always at risk with continual cutbacks at the airline. She is also putting her oldest child through college while continuing to support her learning disabled daughter. In addition, Sandra is active in her neighborhood home association, lending a hand wherever it is needed. This scholarship will enable Sandra to bring stability and security to her family and allow her to pursue her calling.
Laura Kaufmann is also attending Chesapeake College and studying Business Information Technology. Laura is married with two (2) children who are currently attending College. She is very active volunteer in Queen Anne’s County and works full time at McCrone to support her children’s education. Our scholarship will help her pursue her long time dream to complete her Associate’s degree.
Sharon Rzepkowski is now continuing her studies in American Studies/Elementary Education at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) as a result of our scholarship award. Sharon is a single mother of three (3) children in Middle through High School. She works part-time at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, has been a volunteer reading intervention tutor at Bayside Elementary School and is very active in her church ministries, particularly the children’s ministries. The scholarship will help make a difference in her family’s future.
